Re: Sig MCX recall

I was looking for a Pistol Caliber Carbine and the Sig MCX was on my short list. I'm glad I passed on it.

Re: IDPA 2017 Rulebook dramatically changes BUG size/weight limits

The finalized IDPA 2017 Rulebook was recently released and the BUG weight limit was changed.

This podcast from Triangle Tactical has text from an email that was going around indicating changes to BUG were made to allow the Shield.

Re: IDPA Divisions & Pistols

The finalized IDPA 2017 Rulebook was recently released. They changed the BUG size and weight limits again so the S&W Shield would not be excluded.

Here is a podcast from Tactical Triangle about the IDPA 2017 rule changes that also includes a written summary.

Re: IDPA 2017 rulebook adds Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC) (i.e. rifles)

Are .30 Carbine and 5.7x28 FN "pistol" cartridges? I would say it would be up to your Match Director if they would consider these rounds to be "pistol" cartridges. I base that on the finalized IDPA 2017 Rulebook that was recently released that removed all the language about the ...

I just sent my State Rep. an email asking if he will support HB 560. I'll update my signature based on his response.

Re: Strange factory ammo failure - it could have been bad.

I had something similar happen to me. I went to unload a Ruger LCP and the slide was stuck. After pulling really hard on the slide I got it open but the bullet was stuck in the barrel and gun powder was dumping out of the case I was able to extract. I checked all the other rounds in the magazine and...

Re: IDPA 2017 rulebook adds Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC) (i.e. rifles)

Hi Skiprr, I have been competing in IDPA for 3 years now and I hear a lot of the same dissatisfaction with IDPA from other competitors. From what I understand about the 2017 IDPA rulebook, the SO's will retake the exam when their current certification expires and not when the new rulebook goes into ...

Re: IDPA 2017 rulebook adds Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC) (i.e. rifles)

Hi Chas, I'm a PSC member and it's great PSC is going to support the PCC division. I see this as an opportunity for me to improve my carbine skills in defensive situations. About a 6 months ago I picked up a Kel Tec Sub 2000 Gen 2 in 9mm for a home defense carbine. It shoots really well when the fro...

Re: IDPA 2017 rulebook adds Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC) (i.e. rifles)

C-dub and Lena, The IDPA rules changing every 2 years is frustrating and I know folks at my club have not been very happy about it. I have been shooting BUG for the past 18 months and come January 1, 2017 by subcompact pistol will no longer be legal in that division. I simply can't afford to keep bu...

Re: IDPA 2017 rulebook adds Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC) (i.e. rifles)

I have spent a day thinking about the Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) Division and after the shock has worn off about carbine rifles in IDPA, I think I'm okay with it and here is why: 1) The carbine rifles will be in their own division so their score won't impact me. 2) Although IDPA is a sport, I real...

IDPA 2017 rulebook adds Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC) (i.e. rifles)

The IDPA 2017 rulebook adds a Pistol Caliber Carbine Division (PCC), which will be pistol caliber rifles. Here is a link to the IDPA 2017 rulebook: http://www.idpa.com/misc/Rulebook%202017.pdf I don't know how I feel about the new rifle division in the pistol sport. This topic is also being discusse...

IDPA 2017 Rulebook dramatically changes BUG size/weight limits

[Edited to use the Finalized IDPA 2017 Rulebook version 2017.2, and to remove my comment about it being a Glock division since the weight limit moved to 26 oz] The Finalized IDPA 2017 Rulebook changes BUG size/weight limits.
