You get the electronic form of the checklist when you do the application online. I am not sure whether you will get an actual checklist after DPS receives your mail application. Also, if you do your application online, you get a link to have your fingerprints scheduled. So if you mail your application, you have to wait till DPS gets it, gets the application in the system, and then they get the paperwork to you to get your fingerprints done. Do you get the checklist if you do the online app only? I did the mail in app, will I get a check list once they process my app?

Do the application online. When the application is processed online, you get a checklist of documents to send to DPS. If they want the document, it'll be on the checklist. If it isn't on the checklist, send the rest of the documents off. During the background check, if DPS wants to see paperwork, they'll contact you to get the disposition. By that time, you should have it in hand. Do the application now!! Good luck!
