My latest tic-off was the article on the front page of today's Houston Chronicle, regarding some DPS Troopers citing drivers for having license plate frames which "obscure" part of the plate. According to the article, one guy wrote 300 tickets recently, and the law changes on Sept 1st.

Talk about a uniform and a little power...... but, I removed my frames, again "on the side of caution". I don't need a $98 ticket (and possible an assault charge.)
Actually, this law is nearly 2 years old. There was nearly a year of grace period where only warnings were issued. Your "tic" is a bit late to the party.

The reasoning behind the law is that frequently the frames obscure the state, and year of the plate...particularly many of the out of state plates. The officers don't write the laws. For proper redress, refer your "tic" toward the legisalture. No offence intended.

Now back to the original post.

Gentlemen, I believe nearly everyone is in agreement. In summary:

Gov't owned airport in Texas..
Secured area......CHL carry prohibited
Unsecured area...CHL carry legal

Privately owned airport in Texas...
Secured area (if any).......CHL carry prohibited
30.06 posted area............CHL carry prohibited
Unsecured area not posted.CHL carry legal
Unsecured area w/ 30.06...CHL carry prohibited

Sometimes trying to communicate finer points with email or in a public forum like this, expecially with multiple participants can be difficult. So much is lost without body language and tone of voice. Let's all try to provide a little slack to each other.

And as texaseyes correctly points out.....NAP TIME!
