Re: "Waiting Room"

So as i said a couple days ago I moved to mailed status on a Sunday of course a non mailing day thinking they mailed it out saturday as the website is normally about a day behind on everything. And I know I can expect at least a week wait so thinking Monday I will have it but, Is there a specific day in the week that they send out there bulk mail or not. Because i have seen some people say that there mail gets sent out on Friday's. However seeing other peoples statuses some have said there's have been post marked for Thursdays one i think one was Wednesday. So pretty much does DPS only send there mail out one day or does anyone know whats up with that. Thanks for any help. I only ask because if I don't get my license before the 14th I could have an pretty decent sized issue with my mailing address. But anyways thanks for any help.

so, I am trying to figure out why some go really quickly and others take longer - have you had multiple addresses in the last five years? out of state? several jobs? I still have no clue what they check and why some folks go from Background under review to completed in days while others take weeks...I guess my mind just likes to find patterns instead of randomness :)

Good luck...hope you get yours soon.[/quote]

Well to answer your questions. Part of the reason why mine is taking so long to get from what I have learned is sense I dont have a Texas DL so non resident there more common to wait longer. Another reason is texas sent me a letter for a request for more info that i didnt know about for 30 days so sat in limbo for those days when i could have been doing something. So in the long run mine probably would have only taken about 60 days if I would have seen the letter for more info request sooner.

But as of this morning website still hasn't updated. But really trying to trust the texas rep I spoke with. I suppose they would know better with there computers then what i can look at online. But does anyone know is there a specific times or days during the week that they update the website statuses?

Then the rep I talked to said there should be no need to talk to your rep your approved and there working on making your license now. Which thought was awesome of course so took that as what was going on. But shortly after the phone call I decided I wanted to see it myself. So I logged into to check said status online and it shows I am still in background check: Under review. So does anyone know if this guy made a mistake or maybe the online system doesnt update when the status changes or whatever. Would anyone know anything about this. Thanks in advance
They don't update the site as often as you would hope they would. Hang in there? :tiphat:

They told me on the phone that what they need was more info on a previous arrest. Had dismissed charges. So what i am trying to figure out does anyone think they just want the court documentation like the court proceedings? So I can just send that in to them without waiting for someone who might not even call me back. Thank you all for your time

They want certified judgment documents and all charging instruments, you have to get them from the county or city clerk where the arrest occurred. Make sure they are certified, I unfortunately have a lenghty background from my rebellious teenage days so I will be going through the same thing. I sent all my certified docs with my packet when I first mailed it,still haven't even gotten the update yet that they have received my stuff so I'm not so patiently waiting to see what they say. Good luck!
Thank you for all your help. I ended up getting a call back from Texas way earlier then I thought I was. So Documents have been sent to me by mail so now just get to wait until those show up at my door then. I got lucky and I get to fax the docs right to my worker and she said as long as everything is staright with the docs I should see my license in two weeks from the day she gets them. So fingers crossed on that one. Cant Wait.

Re: "Waiting Room"

Venting is nice. Sense all I wanted to do was get it before Christmas but from the way things are rolling. I'm guessing I will be one of those waiting for over 60 days. :-(

Anybody on here have a completed non resident process they would like to share. With dates would love to hear what another non resident waited.

Re: "Waiting Room"

Well new to the site. Not new to waiting on my CHL. Hopefully someone can help me out with some info. I know the 60 day rule before contacting DPS but seeing a crap ton of people who have submitted there paperwork long after me already have it, has gotten me to wonder.

Submited my paperwork to DPS: Oct. 13th
I want to say DPS updated my status to background check under review the same they received it wanna say: Between Nov 2nd and the 9th. Sorry didnt keep track of dates really well.

Still in background check under review. Never knew waiting for this thing could be so hard.

But question is mine will be a non resident CHL does anyone know if those take longer to complete because of the out of state address and everything?

Please help patience is not my strong suit. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Thanks
