It's completely normal. Welcome to the forumCmh07a wrote:Hey everyone, new to the forum. I recently took my CHL class and did the online application and sent in all my forms and even priority shipped them so they arrived on 2/1/2013. I checked my tracking order to verify that they arrived, however, when I check my status online it still tells me: " License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.". My question is, is it normal for them to not even show they received my packet when it have been at their office for over 20 days? And when I try to call then I just get hung up on.
Thanks

Re: "Waiting Room"
They don't update the site as often as you would hope they would. Hang in there?Whitewolfs28 wrote:So pretty confused right now. I called DPS earlier today around 4pm and asked to speak with my case worker to find out if she got my fax.. So normal so far. Then the rep I talked to said there should be no need to talk to your rep your approved and there working on making your license now. Which thought was awesome of course so took that as what was going on. But shortly after the phone call I decided I wanted to see it myself. So I logged into to check said status online and it shows I am still in background check: Under review. So does anyone know if this guy made a mistake or maybe the online system doesnt update when the status changes or whatever. Would anyone know anything about this. Thanks in advance

Re: "Waiting Room"
Ok, you posted on 12-19 that you got your plastic in hand today. Are you psychic?dking007 wrote:Ok, newbie here but thought I'd share my experience so far (btw, this really helps people as they go through this application process and thanks to all who came before me):
Application submitted: 12/9/12 - Online submission of documents; 12 / 10 /12 mailed the documents
Received by DPS : 12/13/12
Background under review: 12/14/12
Background complete: 12/18 /12
Manufacturing: 12 /19 /12
Mailed: 12 / 20 / 12
Plastic in hand: 12 / 24 / 12
Woo Hoo!
Online is the way to go. Note I also suggested they use my DL photo on record, which they did. That may have accelerated the manufacturing...
