Re: SB11 Campus Carry House Floor Debate 5/26/15
I'm going to have to write the Governor, Lt. Gov, my Senator and Rep and let them know that what is taking place in the House right now is absolutely disgusting. How is this Democracy? They won't even bring it up for a debate never-mind a vote? Pretty disappointed in this entire process that you can just jam a bill up by throwing amendments onto bills before it and then sealing its fate by loading down the actual bill with a million amendments. The fact that they've had this for some time and decided to throw it onto a midnight oil session just fuels my conspiracy side. The trifecta.

I seem to remember that a bunch of average Joe's, with no political experience, and no money, were able to recall two state legislators in Colorado, and force a third to resign in lieu of being recalled.
No excuse is acceptable for the failure of SB11, and those responsible need to be held accountable...

I'm going to need a stiff drink to tolerate the bull that is about to be spewed in order to kill SB11.

The woman testifying and some of the men have been saying that this is far more important for just the female Representatives. They need it so they don't get harassed in public by people without press passes. I haven't read the bill but that's what is being spewed.txyaloo wrote:Seems like they're missing the point of the section. It just stops the recording of the conversations. W/O reading the bill, it seems like it doesn't stop the activities. People can still stop and ask questions w/o recording the conversations. I don't see how it offers any protection to the female members.CoffeeNut wrote:So now I can't take a picture of a public Rep out in public? That's what they want (more so for the women)...

Re: SB11 Campus Carry House Floor Debate 5/26/15
Just called my Rep and urged his office to vote to pass SB11 without any amendments that are not agreeable to the author. It seemed like they are getting a lot of these calls because I've never known any government office to be that efficient even at taking phone calls.
