I agree with that but I'll also toss out that a lot of it is about control. The shooters want to control everything including their death/capture and that is why you'll see these idiots shooting themselves before police arrive because they can't necessarily control the arrest or subsequent shooting. Apparently police were on scene within a minute thirty after the first 911 call and SWAT was on scene a short time later. Who knows how much ammo this kid had so that could have also factored into his decision to end it. I'm glad he saved the tax payers from a trial though.
