Re: San Antonio meet and greet set
She's an amazing drummer. I'm a drummer myself and I was mainly watching her. She's the first good drummer I've seen at that program. My daughter was the stage manager for the children's play. She's worked with SPC and Nina for the last 3 years. I tried to find you after the kids show but you'd left already.SlowDave wrote:Really?! I guess I was not practicing full "situational awareness" as I didn't see you. But great fun. I have close ties with the drummer in the jazz band. :-) Between that and trying to find the rest of my family who got there late... but that's cool! Wish you'd have screamed across the auditorium or something. Ha ha.jayinsat wrote: BTW: I saw SlowDave afterward at St. Philips for the jazz concert and children's performance. What a coincidence.

"Ragtime" was amazing! Very well produced performance. The theme is very relevant and will move you. Of course, my baby girl was fantasticJALLEN wrote:Thanks for sharing those pictures, and congratulations for getting the names in there.
I wish I could remember everyone's REAL name now.
Just think, all those CHL'd gun owners there and not one problem, no children harmed, or threatened, everyone behaved themselves within tolerable limits, and parted friends. Remarkable!
Jay, how was the play?
If you get an opportunity I encourage you to go see it.

I'm gonna post them as soon as I get home long enough to do anything but sleep.JALLEN wrote:Very pleasant indeed. It seemed like a pretty good group. Everyone was very kind, and if anyone didn't enjoy it, they kept it awfully well hidden.SewTexas wrote:today was alot of fun!
After more than 50 years of amateur radio, I am quite used to the concept of having friends I've never met, and the pleasure of eventually meeting them.
Jay took a couple of pictures. I'm not sure if he intends to post them or offer them to the highest bidder. He doesn't have anything to worry about. He was with his wife!
We ought to do something like that from time to time.
I really enjoyed meeting you all. We must plan that again.

They also give you unlimited peanuts in the shell, as if their servings aren't already big enough!

Re: San Antonio meet and greet set
There is a Starbucks in the complex as well as a Barnes and Noble bookstore.anomie wrote:I wish I could get in on this but I have to work at 10am on Saturday and won't be done anywhere near in time to drive down to SA.
This forum noob hopes you guys have a great get together.
Actually, hmm. I have a cellular wifi hotspot, I could maybe drive down beforehand, get my work done at 10am and then already be there (I should be done by 11 or so).
Is there a coffee shop or something close buy that wouldn't be bothered by a guy doing some work on a laptop? (given that I'd buy something and not just be a leech)
