Re: Mass Shooting in Connecticut-THREAD NAME CHANGE

My coworker let out a "Here we go again," and is quiet for a second. I like this guy a lot, but I know that he happens to lean a little more liberal than I do, so I brace myself for the inevitable argument; he's not a gun owner, and, like myself, is a young-ish tech/internet nerd, exactly the sort of person you'd think would jump on the gun-control bandwagon starting to spread around that community. But instead he says this: "Funny how this always happens in the states with the strictest gun-control laws. There's no way we'd put up with stuff like that in Texas - you're not going to shoot up a shopping mall if you know that half the people in there are armed. You try that kind of thing, and someone will just drop you. That's one thing at least that I love about living here."
STEVE,
this gives me hope. :thumbs2:

Re: Mass Shooting in Connecticut-THREAD NAME CHANGE

Although the left will launch a full assault on gun rights and many of you have blamed movies, games etc, I believe all those reasons miss the mark. Nothing like this happened before God, and more specifically, the fear of The Lord was banned from society and our schools. Our kids are not allowed to pray, Jesus name can't be mentioned and God, we are told, is just a fairy tell. Even Christmas is forbidden. It's X-mas so we don't offend.

Without a moral fiber, humanity will rapidly devolve into its most base form. We are clearly seeing this. Our moral foundation was built upon the 10 commandments and we've shattered that. Why wouldn't we expect evil to reign?

Who's offended now?

Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire

Indeed, prayers for the victims and families here.

It appears that handguns were used in this incident. I guess they will now be considered assault weapons.

This will certainly light a fire under the gun control crowd! :banghead:
The Hartford Courant confirmed just after 11 a.m. that one student has been killed following an incident that began earlier in the morning, citing reports from authorities on the scene.
Moments earlier, authorities confirmed that a suspected gunman was also dead while at least three others were transported to a nearby hospital
