Well, actually, it kind of depends on which area of the law youa re looking at. The Alcoholic Beverage Code defines a minor as someone under 21. CopOnce told you the truth about being an adult for the Penal Code. You get adult punishments if you are 17. For the purposes of liability (civil practices and tort), I think you are a minor until 18. I base this on the definitions of being under a disability in Chapter 16, limitations. Not being a lawyer, I could be wrong in my reading.
