Re: Road Rage WWUD?
I would think your vehicle door would be locked as the vehicle was in motion, then somehow you stopped at a traffic signal...If a threat like this occured, you have the option (and recomendation) to disengage...RottenApple wrote:I experienced more violent road rage, including people trying to open my car doors...
At which point, if somehow the threat manages to open your door, then anything could happen...Right???
For the record, I am always reminded that when we are discussing these "what if's"...That the bottom line is that we have all decided to carry a firearm for lawful, self-defensive purposes...That means we shoudl always strive to review, understand and apply the knowledge we have obtained over the years to follow the law and the provisions we learn about the use of force and deadly force in "response" to a threat, that we have reasonably determined that force, or deadly force is necessary to stop that threat...
Anything we can do to avoid such an outcome should be explored...But I know it is hard to do in the immediacy of a real life situation...You may not have time to think through this because of the nature of the threat...Just strive to do your best...That is all that can be expected...
When all of us decided to obtain this state certification, it needed to come with the knowledge that simply, YOU have the tool to end ANY threat to you and those around you in a most decisive manner...With that tool comes gret responsibility, and most important accountability...You need to be prepared at all times when you strap that hog-leg on and carry in public...It is not a tool that gives YOU any leeway or excuse if you make a mistake, a lapse of judgement...
Be prepared, become a student of the law, and practice to the best of your abilities...And pass on what you know and understand, especially these days...
