Seriously though, why do people insist on judging appearances rather than actions? Does my "look" entitle me to any less respect than a clean cut guy?

Question or need of clarification "GSchretter"...
The link you provided showed some belt "rigs" that look like fanny packs...
Is that the "bag" you are referring to, and the "bag" the orange jacketed store employee was referring to???
Or were you carrying the firearm in an opaque/not clear, or see through "shopping" type bag...
I guess I haven't "clicked" to this just yet...

I'm condoning what he did in any way. He just knew what to look for. Sorry for your poor encounter.GSchretter wrote:I have carried several times there before.
Here is the bag I had:

You do make a good point about the serial killer thing.
I guess what bothered me was his approach. He could have walked up to me and said Sir, if you are bringing a gun in the store for an employee to view we need to check it"
Not cornering me and raise his hands to block my movement.
Next time I will go with a shirt that says:
"NO, I am not carrying a gun for an employee to check" ha ha..
I like Sportsmen Warehouse more anyways.
I just did it for the 20% coupon.
Texas Penal Code
Text
§20.01. Definitions.
In this chapter:
(1) "Restrain" means to restrict a person's movements without
consent, so as to interfere substantially with the person's liberty,
by moving the person from one place to another or by confining the
person. Restraint is "without consent" if it is accomplished by:
(A) force, intimidation, or deception;
§20.02. Unlawful restraint.
(a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or
knowingly restrains another person.
(c) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor
I would have, at minimum, called the PD. I would have told him to move aside, and when he did not I would have taken action. I am under NO obligation to answer his questions or tell him I have a CHL. If they have a policy against carry in the store, they can order me to leave. However, cornering me, placing his arms up and telling me that "he can't let me go anywhere" establishes his intent to PREVENT me from leaving.
