Unless someone has better info...

I cannot find anything else that says you cannot carry under the protection of the CHL law and your permit at the Houston Zoo...

Have fun and enjoy your visit...

Can you carry in the houston Zoo,
And can you carry at a funeral??
You know, and I'll go back and check...But a couple of years ago on another forum, a local from these parts asked the same question about the Houston Zoo...

I think the solution we came up with back then, and this was before SB501 went into effect...That you were "ok" to carry in that facility...

Now, granted I have not been to the Houston Zoo in years...I have not had the need to go there...

I am not sure to the current policy or posting (if any) at the Houston Zoo at this time...This is something I feel we should all get up to speed on, just because...

Lets get a concensus and see what we come up with...

As for a funeral...I would think you were ok to do so...

Its like any other event yopu attend...Its not about the event in my book, you are not carrying a firearm because you think something will happen at that "event"...You are carrying because you are licenced and qualified to do so...period...

Its not like you are going to an "event" and are going to be there forever...You've got other places and "events" to attend to elsewhere...

So as long as it isn't restricted per the law, you carry in accordance and under the protection of the law...

These are not "dummy" questions...

One thing I am thinking of right now...The Houston Zoo may actually have a "no guns" policy...They may actually have screening and some sort of notice, even the dreaded 30.06 signage (which in that case, you cannot carry in that facility, we'll check on that)...

Some of those things they do "may not" apply to any of us...Thats what we got to figure out...
