First of all, sorry to hear about the breakin.

I have a G19, and my wife just got a M&P9c. We each like them both, but the M&P fits her hands better. It really seems to me that the ergonomics makes up for the smaller size, so it shoots really well for a (sub)compact. The trigger on the M&P is also nicer than the glock, once the grittiness works it's way out. If I were deciding between them, and I wasn't already a glock shooter, I'd probably have chosen the M&P.

BTW, she has just over 1000 rounds through hers, with zero failures of any kind. Mostly WWB, but also some gold dot, HST, and Hydrashok. The grittiness in the trigger is much better now. The break is still a bit heavy, but that seems to be lightening up, albeit slowly.

Compared to the XD, you might notice that the trigger pull is, uh... shorter. ;)

The only downside is that magazines are harder to get (S&W sells them, but they're expen$$ive), and there are fewer holster options.
