There are a number of reasons for me that others have already stated. But the biggest three reasons are my wife and two little girls. There are a lot of crazy, messed up, and evil people in this world. I cannot control if, when, or where they may choose to make me/us their target, but I consider myself safer and have peace of mind knowing I have the option to defend myself and my family and the means to do so.

Now what I would really love to hear is the other sides' reasons to NOT get a CHL.
