You're right. I was thinking of the plain .38 LSWC which is pretty bad by and of itself.

There has been some migration to the 158 grain LSWCHP FBI/Chicago load following the Fish shooting to avoid a perceived liability factor now associated with hollow point bullets, rightly or wrongly. It is not a hollow point, but rather a solid ball round. It is hard to find on the shelf. I recall buying a box of 50 at a WalMart once, and not knowing what it was, promptly shot it all up in practice. It was pretty accurate, and I really couldn't tell any significant recoil difference between it and 135 grain Gold Dot SB's from a 637.
