Avoiding confrontations is not the same thing as avoiding people. If someone I made small talk with moments before yells "hey man" to me I would assume I forgot something - no matter what color or size they are. Maybe a bit TOO excessive, but now that I'm carrying I have to make a point to avoid confrontations and anything that might put me in risk. You never know, I'm not going to put myself in a bad spot.
