Apartment Complex Signage - Odd Location

My apartment complex just posted 30.06 and 30.07 signs in the entrance to the complex as soon as you turn off the main road. It's nowhere near any of the buildings, including my own or the building with the sales office. What does this sign mean for me (I live in a different building) as well as tho...

Re: i drew my weapon tonight

From a legal standpoint is it advisable to give your side of the report to the officer without your lawyer present? I see that it worked out fine in this situation, but if the officer had believed the aggressor's side of the story and charged kingpinGT it could have been used against him later. Mayb...

Considering trying to get a city policy modified to allow CC

I am a city employee and CHL holder. I am in the beginning stages of researching how to go about trying to get the city policy changed to allow employees with a CHL to carry while at work. I know very little about the workings of city government and the process behind something like this. Hoping to ...

Re: Handgun locked in Fire Station parking lot

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated. My department is not civil service, and plan to continue with the don't ask don't tell policy, but just wanted to know what the legality of it was.

Handgun locked in Fire Station parking lot

Hey all - quick question - I'm a firefighter and a CHL holder. Is it legal for me to keep my gun locked in my vehicle in the parking lot while at work? Does the city employee handbook have any effect on this if it prohibits doing so? Is that legal if it does? I understand Texas is a right to work st...

Re: A reminder of the idiots in our lives

His wife didn't say much, not sure if she realized how close she was to being a widow. Mine was a bit stunned by the situation and we both are better gun owners because of the experience. I realize the gun and what happens with it is my responsibility and his idiotic actions aside, it's MY fault I l...

A reminder of the idiots in our lives

Well today, my gun was sitting next to me on my desk. This is where I typically keep it while at home working at my computer and not wearing shorts/pants with a belt. (No kids, wife is well gun educated.) So my brother and sister in law came over today.. In the past, he's mentioned interest in purch...

Re: Can I carry into a shooting range?

I guess I'm confused on the difference between public and private. :bigear:

What's the difference in a grocery store and the gun range at bass pro shops?

I was under the impression that either one has to have a properly displayed 30.06 or 51% sign to prevent me from carrying inside it.

Re: Someone lifts up your shirt?

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. Another question - I've searched but due to the common-ness of search terms, I haven't been able to find a thread about it yet. I understand that showing your weapon as a means of force, not deadly force, can be warranted to deter a bad situation. Is there a PC ...

Re: Texas State Fair 2012

Quick question, as I plan on going to the fair this weekend. Did you verbalize that you were carrying to the person doing the wanding or just instruct that you needed to speak with an officer?

Re: Can I carry into a shooting range?

I shoot at the Bass Pro in Grapevine as well. Before I got my CHL - I had to check in and get a trigger lock on my gun (which they remove when you arrive at the range), log how much ammo, how many targets, and if I brought my own eye and hearing protection. Now that I have my CHL, I just notify them...
