In all fairness to the woman, most of US wouldn't be thinking clearly during a criminal attack, either. She probably didn't "let" him take it back, he probably revcovered from his surprise and forcibly took it back. After all, she was a woman and an old one at that. Yes, she was REAL lucky...

ANY safe is in danger from that kind of equipment...or a plasma cutter, etc. We could go on and on but it's futile. 10 gauge is fine for most of us who can't afford 10-20 grand for a REAL safe. For us, anything from a Sentry up to a Ft. Knox "Yeager" series will have to do. But I'd stay aw...

I wanted to do the same thing except I wanted to duplicate (power-wise) the standard "GI" 230-grain FMJ ball .45ACP loading (approx. 830 fps). Of course, I had to buy a chronograph...in my case it was a fairly inexpensive Shooting Chrony Alpha Master Chronograph (from http://www.midwayusa....

I'm not knocking ANYone's choice of safes/brands here -- unlike some safe "experts" often do in gun forums (unless you have one of their "superior" safes of course). I'm just making an observation... I have to admit that I don't understand a serious (higher-end with great protect...

ScubaSigGuy,

stevie_d_64 gave some excellent info!

Additionally, you might want to check out this thread on safes on another forum:

...there are similar threads elsewhere re: safes...the topic often comes up in gun forums.

I really hate Grackles (and pigeons). I shoot them on sight...if I can get to my scoped air rifle quickly enough! But Denton would NEVER be able to allow ANYONE -- even a "professional" animal-control guy, let alone lots of teenagers or private citizens -- to shoot those Grackles: All the ...

flintknapper and others, Yes, I agree: A gun in the purse is A WHOLE LOT BETTER than the gun at home or in the car. I'm reminded of that 1991 shooting spree at Lubys with Suzanna Gratia. For those who don't know about said incident: http://www.gunownersalliance.com/hupp-10.htm In this case, "th...

Not trying to change anyone's mind here, but just for the written record, I'm "voting" against the concept of carrying a gun in a purse.

I really don't want to change my style of dress either, but that's not due to any vanity issues, just other reasons. Still, I also must admit that I really am NOT into wearing Old-Man-Guayabera shirts -- never will wear those -- but I don't have to though, because ankle-carry has worked well for me ...

I err on the side of helping others...my life comes second. Really though, I'm taking very little risk stopping to help someone...I'm aware, armed (!) and if need be, I'll use it very efficiently. Besides, if I do get killed, it's time for me to go...it's God's call. I don't worry about it at all. B...

Stainless.

Ever since guns have come in stainless, that's all I have gotten.

I see no reason to purchase blued
