Re: New Collin Couty Range!
Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like a great place but at $500 for a year there's just no way I can justify that. It is literally cheaper for me to pay for a hunting lease and get permission to just do target shooting there.

Re: New Collin Couty Range!
Ahh did not realize it was members only. I qualify, so if I purchase the membership then there are no further range fees for the year?

Re: New Collin Couty Range!
Thanks for the link and info. Looks promising. Any idea what range fees are for non-members? I see membership information on the website but not any details past that as to cost.

Re: Two Years
I imagine that a practiced swordsman from a bygone era might have felt the same way when he strapped on his steel before leaving his home, too. Since I used to fence competitively, can I claim to be a practiced swordsman as well? As a fellow former competitive fencer, I say yes...

I could not agree more! I don't use facebook so the lack of information is quite frustrating.AEA wrote:I can't imagine why they are posting info about this on a facebook page and no where else!
They should put it on their website for everyone (non-facebook) can see.

Re: M&P Shield
I saw some threads around the various forums that it might have an issue with being slightly out of battery. It won't fire out of battery but that is also bad during a critical moment. Ridiculous threads. I can replicate that behavior with every semi-auto gun I own, glock, m&p, beretta 92, etc.

Re: Great Southwest Gun Range
Looking at their website I don't see any range rules posted. Most (ok all that i've found) ranges do not allow draw from concealed firing and have a 1/second shot frequency rule. Is great southwest the same?

Re: Bullet Trap
For buying a gun itself I strongly recommend grabagun.com, you buy online and select local pickup at the coppell store. Great service & prices, no shipping charges unlike cheaperthandirt and you just go pick it up.

Re: Bullet Trap
Wow BSB I had not realized there were two Frisco gun ranges in the works...that's kind of crazy.
RSJ: Some stuff might be marked up but quite a bit is not. They are the cheapest decent quality 9mm ammo I have found in the DFW area for example.

Re: M&P Shield
You won't find the 9mm at a gun show, you might find the .40 version though. The last gun show in Dallas I saw 2 of the .40s but the 9s are just too popular.

Re: Best Gun Store in Town?
The best I have found in DFW is an online retailer grabagun.com. I order online and select 'local store pickup' at their Coppell, TX office. They have great prices, great seelction and great service in my experience.

Re: How long does it take, between state's receipt/acknowled
For me the whole process took 7 weeks to the day after taking my CHL class. It took about 2 weeks from when I mailed until the website updated, several weeks for the background check. About 2 days after it got to chl manufacture pending and about a week after it said chl mailed until I received it.

Re: New Collin Couty Range!
I'd love to find more information on this. Anyone have a non-facebook link with more details? :)
