2nd Korean War starts here

Evidently, the DPRK views Austin as a major threat.

Must be all of our guns.

Re: Sad and Pathetic Political Correctness - Again

I think the problem might be that the deaths and wounds were inflicted by a US Army officer. If he had been just some religious loon who somehow got on base, it might be different. :iagree: terrible situation, but I think the above statement is the real crux of the issue as far as Purple Heart comm...

Re: Please vote for Marion Hammer in this poll

They could also simply be ignoring duplicate votes from the same IP, but that would be giving them too much credit :banghead: since an earlier poster here pointed out that 3 straight votes increased the total by 0.1% (at the time), it's pretty safe to say that they're not stopping ballet stuffing.

Re: Please vote for Marion Hammer in this poll

53/47 hammer after my vote.

I'm guessing the total # of votes cast is pretty small. a dozen people here made a swing, and now the other candidate is getting people to respond.

Re: Effects of ammo shortages

I've had to cut back quite a bit-- I do about 25% as much shooting as I was doing last fall. I had a couple thousand rounds on hand last October, and thought that would last me through any craziness. That's now all gone, and what i've gotten to replenish it is a fraction of what I was using. The las...

Re: How dumb is this??

question: It's my understanding that any written notice (in regards to an employee handbook, for example) has to conform to 30.06 wording to legally prevent a CHL from carrying on the premises of a place that's not otherwise restricted. so, assuming it's not explicitly written that way, my understan...

Re: Anyone use Federal Tactical HST?

I might have to roll by gt's here in austin this week to get fitted for a new vest. I'll see if they have any in stock. Their supplies have been pretty low. I might also have a box of 20? I'll have to check. Even if they have stock, GT does limit to 100 rounds/customer per month, at least for non-L...

Re: Practicing with airsoft guns

I have airsoft versions of all my regular pistols (one's a close approximation, since I haven't found an exact PPQ copy). They're semi-useful, but I'd echo the previous advice about dry-firing your real weapon with some snap caps. Also, Jumping Frog's safety advice seems highly advisable, and I'm go...

Re: Newbie ammo questions

I cannot stress enough how important it is to take a beginning handgun class.... Please take an intro class - they are well worth the time and investment. :txflag: TBM :iagree: And just in case you hadn't heard it enough-- Please spend the money and take a handgun class from a professional instruct...

Re: Grandma picks up 6mo and 2yr old at daycare then shoots

so sad. One has to wonder if this kind of madness has been going on all along, and we never heard about it? Or if the world really has just gone to hell in the last 4-5 years. Seems like every other day there's a new horror story. that said, i guess "assault revolvers" will soon be added t...

Re: "You carry a GUN?!"

"It is my policy neither to confirm nor deny the presence of a concealed handgun on my person." curious about that. I tell my friends when I am and (on rare occasions) am not armed, because I want them aware of whether I'm capable of engaging a threat or not. that's doubly true of the one...

Re: Breakfast Klub owner patrols with AR

I'm curious why Mr. Davis hasn't been arrested. If i were to walk across the street from my apartment with an AR-15 strapped on my back, and a police officer saw it, I'm virtually positive I'd go to jail. He is on video tape doing essentially the same thing-- and he's obviously positively identified...
