My friend and I (both women) had done some shopping for some supplies for church. It was about 10 PM, and we had decided to unload car that evening at church for convenience sake. We live in a fairly safe area, but are adjacent to a major highway. As I went to unlock the front door, arms full of bags, a car barreled up the long hilly driveway to entrance at a high rate of speed with no lights on. I dropped packages and ran toward my car, hoping to grab cute little bottle of pink mace that would obviously save our lives. Blinding lights suddenly hit us and after what seemed like a lifetime, a cop poked his head out of his window to inquire what we were doing. It was my second "come to Jesus" moment at church. I started CHL process that week. Looking back, at the way it went down, I do sometimes wonder what would have happened if I was armed though? I guess protocol for a suspected burglary would make sense for cops to approach like that, but I was pretty upset that he didn't even flash his blues as he approached?
