Oh my God! I want to say I can't believe this happened, but I DO believe it happened, exactly as you say, b/c as a person of a certain age (a few years over 35), I've seen so much.

Couldn't the text messages be evidence? Yes, we're hoping so! The texts DO show he wasn't acting rashly, he was very reluctant to do anything, couldn't get away, etc. Then to find out your cell phone went dead!!! So now you can't call anyone.I'm still shocked in Texas they are prosecuting a CHL hol...

In my class, I was taught that you can use up to deadly force to prevent the commission of a felony. I respect your opinion, but please don't say a person was foolish for defending their life.

I'm sure any cop would agree...a vehicle is a weapon that can be used with deadly force.

Yeah, hindsight is 20/20. I'm so sorry your family had to go through that. But having a weapon makes such a big difference when dealing w/insane ppl like this, right?

I decided to keep it simple. I've seen many a chase on TV where a perp is trying to run away from cops. If they merely scrape a cop's car, they're usu. charged w/assault or attempted assault w/a deadly weapon. The question now is, if it's a mere citizen, and someone is attempting to hit us in a scen...
