Re: Two arrested at Austin Capitol during open carry rally
Ok, I get it now. Exercising your rights is tolerable so long as law enforcement approves and it is good PR.

Re: Two arrested at Austin Capitol during open carry rally
My understanding is that these men were breaking no law. It seems they were arrested under authority law enforcement wish they had, rather than authority they actually have.

Thanks for the detailed info Ken. I'm considering getting something for my dad for CC. He lost a good bit of hand strength due to some health issues.

Re: Hilton Anti-CHL?
30.06 postings only apply to people licensed to carry under Texas H 411, right? So is this one of those odd situations where CHL holders have fewer rights than non-CHL holders in Texas? I remember a few years ago taking some firearms into a hotel in Dallas (prior to having my CHL). As far as I know ...

WTB CZ-82 Trigger guard
I bought a CZ-82 for my brother a while back. He loves old surplus guns and he fell absolutely in love with this one. It turned out to be a really great shooter. I can shoot tighter groups with it than I can with my H&K P2000. Sadly on our last time out to shoot, the trigger guard "nub' bro...

Re: CHL use in self defense against a dog?
[quote="03Lightningrocks"]I have two questions. 1) Why do the dogs have to be Rottweilers ? If they were poodles, would we make a point of the breed? I suppose Rottweiler or pit bull sounds more threatening. Unfortunately this stereo typing is causing dog discrimination. Yeah, I know, ever...

Re: Inheriting a Browning shotgun
Yeah, I think it would definitely be a matter of getting it restored for the sentimental value rather than the financial value of the gun.

Re: Inheriting a Browning shotgun
I don't have it in hand yet and my parents (who have it right now) aren't savvy enough to know for sure. They know its bore is smaller than their 12 gauge but that's all. I'm guessing its a 16, but I guess it could be a 20 gauge. What doesn't make sense to me is that from what I'm reading from Brown...

Inheriting a Browning shotgun
I was so honored today when I was told I'd be inheriting my grandfather's shotgun. I have memories of seeing it sitting behind the front door whenever we'd visit (gasp! I know, so unsafe, but we were taught to never guns!). My grandfather actually died over a decade ago, but my grandmother has final...

I was there with my little white dog. It was a great rally. My first political/civil rights event ever. I was proud to be there and be a part of it.

Re: Road trip to Florida... Flying back on return trip.
I did the same thing in July of last year. No problems with the drive. On my flight back they told me I couldn't have ammo even though it was in the original packaging (Hornady critical defense ammo box) because I had opened the box. The airline's policy didn't say anything about the box having to b...
