Still waiting to here why it was doing this to start with.
The update was just to keep the public from getting rowdy lol. They had to say something since they already claimed that they would update the situation. I may call them just to see if I can actually speak with a real person since I have yet to send mine in.

Re: Urgent: XDs recall...
Yes the grip safety is metal.
After all this reading I am very tempted to completely take mine apart. It shouldn't be too hard to do either. I am waiting to see what comes about on Friday. We are supposed to get some type of update hopefully.

Re: Urgent: XDs recall...
I can speak about returning one you bought without a receipt in a FTF transaction. I have sent one firearm back to SA twice. They provided me with label to ship and did all work for free. I bought the gun from a member here in a FTF transaction. I had no original receipt of purchase or anything. They handled all of it without question. They were friendly on the phone and tried to fix the issue but were ultimately unable. Luckily in my case the issue was not impeding the operation of the gun just the finish. They tried and ultimately recommended a different coating for the gun which I declined to pay for (their rates are high). They went ahead and recoated in the original coating and sent it back to me.
I must say as a XDS owner I bought mine one day after the recall started. The salesman did not mention this. I figured no problem SA is a stand up company and I was sure they will fix it.
Now I am sitting here hoping they are actually able to fix it. Until that happens I am carrying my P238. I also have other firearms but that does not put me at anymore ease over the situation than anyone who only had this one and nothing else.
I also take up issue with starting the recall with out knowing how to fix it. That really seems like some seriously poor planning. I only have one box of ammo thru mine without any issues thus far. I may just wait till we all know exactly what the fix is before shipping it off.
