This is all actually very helpful as it answers some side issues I was wondering about as well. My school does have an employee contract prohibiting weapons on campus, but the director of the school has now given me written permission to leave the gun locked in the car in the lot. I am a teacher at a private school. I know I cannot carry a firearm on campus. However, can I leave my weapon locked up in my car in the school employee parking area? Thanks for all the replies, that was a lot of help. I went back and checked on the hospital carry and you were correct - CHL holders can carry unless the hospital has properly posted.

Question about carrying at Doctor's Office
I am fairly new to concealed carry, having just recently got my license in Texas. I understand about concealed carry being prohibited at hospitals in Texas, but what about at an office not connected to a hospital, such as a dentist or eye doctor? Are these also prohibited?
