This is a good idea. I really like and personally shoot a 1300. There are however, a lot more accessories for the 870 or 500. Either of those would be great. The pardner mentioned above should also be a good choice. It is a heavier copy of the 870 so it should have slightly less recoil. The Maverick is light and has a good amount of recoil but imo, it is a solid gun for a very cheap price. If, however, you could pick up a used 870, 500, or 1300 in good shape, that would be even better.karder wrote:Check out the pawn shops.
