Re: Dogs and Texas CHL
Right because I'm interesting in pursuing a legal case. I'm on the Texas CHL (Crazy Houstonian Lawsuit) Forum, correct? On a slightly bizarre note, my CHL instructor (Houston Metro Officer) told us one of his former students has shot three dogs while jogging. He was in no way encouraging that ...

Re: Dogs and Texas CHL
Actually I was a teacher for 12 years. Let me ask this another way... Under Texas law, are yo u legally justified in shooting a dog that is attacking your dog, in an urban area, if you have a CHL? Well, I already quoted you the statute that says you are allowed to shoot an attacking dog. In that po...

Re: Dogs and Texas CHL
The original question has been asked before but I'm not sure I've ever seen it answered in terms of anyone pointing out the law allowing it. I've often wondered the same thing. You can shoot a dog attacking livestock or fowl. Check. You can shoot a dangerous wild animal defined by Section 822.101, ...

Re: NYPD developing long-range gun detection tool
Teddy - add me to that list! Just for laughs, it would be funny to see how many CHLs are carrying on Texas streets. Probably enough to send some Yankee liberals into orbit! Seriously though, I can only imagine the fallout from setting one of these cameras up in a high crime area where it might actua...

Re: LC9 broke after 150 rounds
I took my first trip to the range after the repair and my LC9 is working fine so far. Put about 60 rounds through it. MoJo - I hear your point on being a beta tester. I've learned my lesson and next time I'll wait until a model has been on the market a little longer. I think that's decent, common se...

Re: LC9 broke after 150 rounds
Received my repaired LC9 from Ruger today. Items replaced: Firing Pin Spring, Hammer Catch Spring, and Firing Pin Ruger fired 42 rounds without malfunction Now I'm trying to decide if I can trust this 9mm after some range time or if I should just buy a PPS and move on? It's hard carrying a gun you d...

Re: SIGH - Seal shoots himself in head
As others have said, alcohol was probably a factor. I feel terrible for the woman and the man's family.
Unfortunately this is exhibit A why dad always told me to treat all guns as if they are loaded.

Re: LC9 broke after 150 rounds
As others said, the call to Ruger went well. The company emailed me a UPS overnight label and I shipped the LC9 today. Off it goes to Ruger.

LC9 broke after 150 rounds
Bought the LC9 a couple weeks ago and really like it -- thin, great for carry, etc. Today at the range the trigger stopped working. I'm able to pull the trigger but the hammer does nothing. Employee at the range looked at it and told me theirs had the exact same problem, breaking over and over, and ...

Re: 'Mailed' 8 Days Ago
OG, still researching what to carry so no immediate changes. That probably won't last too long. Seems like a lot of level-headed CHL holders on this site so I plan to continue reading/learning.

'Mailed' 8 Days Ago
I've been in 'mailed' status since the 22nd and nothing in my mailbox except for the annoying catalogs that come during the holidays. Granted Thanksgiving was a non-mail day so it's really more like a week. How long do I wait before I call DPS?
