Colorado has had a major influx liberal democrats over the years. Lots of big money moved there for the winter sking and beutiful summers. They live in huge houses in the mountain resort areas, in Boulder and Denver.
Yep...I have a cabin up in the southwest mountains where I go to fly fish. Been going up there for 25+ years, and have become close friends with a number of the locals that were born and raised there. Up there, they use the term "those front range people", with the same derogatory connotation that we refer to "the left coast". The absentee owners that have the big homes at the ski areas are not really an issue, because almost none of them are full time residents and don't vote there, but almost 80% of the total population is on the I-25 corridor in Pueblo/Colorado Springs/Denver/Boulder/Ft Collins, and they control the legislation for the whole state.
