Re: Ugly 9mm

If you're looking for something reasonably priced you might actually give one of those American Tactical guns a try; I haven't had the opportunity to fire one, but after handling one of their Hi-Power clones, I gotta say they seem much more solidly built than I would've guessed.

Re: 2011: The Handgun

Much like the Taurus Judge, it is a solution looking for a problem Actually, I was kinda thinking along the same lines. If you REALLY need to throw that much lead at something, wouldn't a Judge/Governor be a better choice? More concealable (relatively speaking, of course) and with the "Raging&...

Re: A suprise in a box of ammo I bought

Sometimes the customer ISN'T always right though. I can cite a number of instances from Geek Squad when the customer was arguing for something, and they didn't get a refund, even after complaining to a manager. The service agent was doing her job, and doing what she was told. Ammunition is not refu...

Re: Drive By-WWYD?

In response to the original question, duck, draw, and wait. Preferably doing the first two as rapidly as possible. Get behind cover, weapon ready. If it becomes apparent that the threat is in fact only perceived and not real, reholster. If the threat is never dispelled, wait. If at all possible to e...

First carry experiences, IWB question...

So, I'm new to the whole CHL game, I've only had mine for a week and have carried while out shopping and running errands a few times now, as well as out to lunch at a local Chinese buffet. So far so good.... buuuuuuut. I was in Target yesterday and nature was callin' so I ducked into the bathroom, t...

Re: FN Herstal 5.7 Pistol

I really agree to this not being a good CCW. Large and long, but with 20+1, I sure would not want to face one. I understand that due to the relatively light projectile, and the amount of energy, many if not all of the shots would cause a great deal of tumble. I may have been dreaming, but I thought...

Re: Man accused of inproperly passing Concealed Weapons stud

That's the funny part; there was no retry... everyone passed on the first go, even those who'd never shot a gun before and came trying to qualify with an old .25 (no joke) Hope your instructor didn't allow them to qualify with that. Has to be a .32 cal minimum. That's the funny part; there was no r...

Re: Man accused of inproperly passing Concealed Weapons stud

I can't remember his name but the guy who taught my class wasn't the greatest. He handed us the written tests and then read off the answers. I don't think he said anything to anyone during the shooting portion as long as they weren't doing anything unsafe. I know my shooting wasn't at its best that ...

Re: CHL Holders: What do you carry? How do you conceal?

For frame of reference, I'm 5'8" and about 170-175lbs, and I've been carrying a Ruger SR9 in a Kholster. Takes some getting used to the weight, but otherwise, no real issues.

Re: Woohoo! Finally updated to "mailed!"

Why did it take nearly 6 months? I wish I knew. I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone I spoke with, and then out of the blue... poof! Manufacturing. I'll tell ya, I don't have a very high opinion of the people operating those phones. 3 times I tried calling and as soon as I was taken off hol...

Maybe I'm a bit biased but I need to give some old friend a nod with Renee's Rib Shack in Abilene.
