I'm a big fan of the .45 Colt, chambered in a revolver from Ruger and a Rossi 92. With these two, I can go from "bunny" loads all the way up to, and slightly past, standard .44 Magnum loads (made somewhat easier by the fact that I handload). Makes the cartridge useful for everything from plinking to varmints to medium-sized game. You can do this with the .44 as well, but there's just something "neat" for me in running what's essentially a 140 year old cartridge through that kind of power, and utility, scale.

Note: Please do NOT try running "heavy" or "hot" loads through your SAA! While you might not actually "blow up" your gun, you -will- damage both it, and possibly your own hand!
