Reading the address would not be a problem at the distance of standing in line at a grocery store for someone with good vision.Charles L. Cotton wrote:Depending upon proximity, age, vision, there's nothing silly about it. I've read various id tags people were wearing and my eyes are far from young. I could also hold my cell phone by my side and shoot a photo of a CHL on a belt or holster with the flash turned off and no one would know.EEllis wrote:how would anyone do that without you knowing? If you just let them then they can take your wallet out of your pocket just as easy. I mean you may not like wearing an ID but that a badguy will know where you live is not a real reason against it. I can public records you plate number and in 30 seconds get your address. Don't want BG's to know about your guns then don't OC. Pretending they can read the tiny printing on your ID is just silly.Javier730 wrote:And what stops a BG from doing just that? Constructive criticism not negativity. The OP posted to get peoples opinions and thats what he is getting. If you want to use your concealed handgun license to open carry fine, but I dont think having your personal information out for everyone to see is a good idea.EEllis wrote:How? Anyone who wants to know your address is going to have to get closer than any BG should be able to unless he beats you. I don't really see any benefit but the negativity is just over the top.Javier730 wrote:This is a joke, right? As bad and silly of an idea I believe a CHL badge is, this is much worse. If you do manage to stop a robbery or a bad guy, he will know where you live. I hope your kidding.
Chas.
About running the plates, you can run my plates to get my address but nothing about me says I have firearms at home for bad guys to steal. Open carrying and/or having a chl for a necklace does.
