Re: So you're sitting in church when...

USASGT, I believe the OP assumed there is no 30.06 sign posted at the church. BTW, you should read the entire chapter 46, as the text below applies to some of the places listed in subsection (b): (i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notic...

I am reasonably certain there is an online market for a lot of other illegal things, too.

Congrats on the new addition! That's a nice piece; I've been reading a good deal about them lately. I carry an Ultra CDP II myself, so I'm interested in your upcoming range report.

Re: On a lighter/brighter note

Congrats on the range day with your son! Sounds like a good time was had by all! I bought my son, who is now 13, a Ruger New Bearcat at a gun show about 3 years ago. He enjoyed shooting it very much until I bought him a Mark III 22/45. I think that's his favorite now. He's taken a couple of shots wi...

Re: Whose got Tattoos???

I've got one. Part of it was done overseas in '84 or so, added onto it about 10 or 11 years ago. Represents a death and a rebirth, but nobody would know it but me.

Re: Ever have a gun "speak" to you?

I picked up an old West Hurley Auto-Ord 1911 in the gun shop a couple of years ago. It's not the prettiest thing, it rattles like mad, and it refuses to feed anything but GI hardball, but it was staring at me from the case like an old dog in the pound, so I took it home. I enjoy shooting that gun as...

I envy your fine assortment there, but don't envy your having to make that decision. Good luck with it, though.

Re: Thoughts on Tim Schmidt / U.S. Concealed Carry?

I joined USCCA after I started carrying. Had the membership for a couple of years, then dropped it when I found I could get more (and better) information from other sources without the cost. I also got tired of the constant e-mails and didn't find the magazine all that informative.

Re: Why Campus carry is important

Wait, I thought there was no provision in Illinois for concealed carry. How, then, did Mr. Demetrius transport his weapon to the scene of the crime? Does he know someone in the mayor's office? Frankly I think he ought to get a maximum of 82 days, at which point his plug gets pulled. :mad5

Re: Woman Dies After Home Invasion Shooting

I can remember stories where people who carried a gun in their own homes were considered paranoid. 30 years ago I thought that was a possibility, not case for the last decade or so. True. This type of thing happens way too much. Sad for the woman and her family. I know I have a tendency to get a li...
