I've had my CHL since I turned 21 back in late 2003 (actually got my CHL with Ross Bransford as well!) and only my close friends and family know I carry. I only carry when I know I'm not going to be hanging out with friends (who are spontaneous) and decide to go to a bar later on in the night. If I ...

Sure your done eating or you got your food to go either or.

You don't think if somebody notified the police they might give a vehicle description?

I can only see that ending up as bad getting pulled over on a felony type stop, and having to explain.

Just my thoughts though.

Flashing or printing...

This has probably come up before but I'm not positive what to search for so I figured I'll just ask. Say your waking to your vehicle and the wind blows your shirt up and somebody sees your gun and yells "he's got a gun" or something to that effect. And a group of people outside eating proc...

Improper signs = amusing

This post is more of a thought/statement than anything really: So I went to a bookstore off campus for my summer semester books; and as I was walking up to the door I saw a sticker w/ a ghostbuster symbol w/ a gun. It said: Security Notice (pic of gun/ghostbuster sign) Concealed Weapons prohibited I...

Hey Rooster, Just FYI if ya didn't know; you can take the CHL class up to 6 months (last I heard) before you turn 21 so that all you have to do when you turn 21 is get your instructor to sign it and notarize it and you can turn the paperwork in without having to wait. Dunno how much it really helps ...

Thanks for the help! Does Texas allow you to carry a gun in your vehicle w/o a carry permit yet? The reason I ask is because the "CD" says you can defend your car. And as far as I know Texans can't carry in their vehicles unless "traveling" right? Thanks in advance guys! -Laurence

Need help for school discussion board

Hey guys, I'd like ya'lls help. I'm looking for info on the Castle Doctrine helping to reduce the crime rate.

Also, how it hasn't made citizens go berzerk and kill innocent people standing next to their cars, etc.

Any help is appriciated, I really can't think of where to start looking.

In response to this, I have a question- More like a statement that I'm curious on answers. How many hours are recruits trained on CHL laws and how to conduct traffic stops with CHL holders? I can imagine after reading some traffic stop posts that they are not taught much if anything! Like the gentle...

Sure, I'd be curious I've got the XD .45 4" and think it's awsome, but I'd be interested in hearing how the compact differs pros/cons.

I got a friend up @ Tech... unfortuantly he's in the dorms and guns aren't allowed in the dorms for personal protection.... kinda sad when u think about it. I can only imagine how vulnerable the dorms really are. A new channel did a report here in Austin on how vulnerable the dorms really are to the...

I'm up for some meets and shooting!

Saturdays are best for me; Fridays work well (don't have class until 7PM)

ARC range or any public range works for me.

I'll be @ Enchanted Rock camping this weekend; enjoy the show!

I'm glad Texas State parks aren't prohibited, lets my mind rest easier.
