that is what i was getting at as far as its validity. To my knowledge these are only posted on the perimeter of the parking lot and not the actual building its self. I've been here 3 yrs and basically operated under the premise that CHL holder are not allowed to carry inside this campus because in the event of an active shooter we dont want guess and employees to be mistaken for the shooter when out team comes to respond.
So by campus, is it a school campus? If so, and it is a public school, then there is a different rub. A 30.06 sign is not valid on a public school parking lot as the public school is a government entity. They CAN as a school however, prohibit an employee from having a gun in the car and can fire you if you do. While not illegal, it is a fireable offense and there is no protection by the parking lot law.

This is Dell's HQ in plano(formerly Perot Systems)
Thought the sign looked familiar.

This would probably lead to an interesting quandary:

Sec. 52.061. RESTRICTION ON PROHIBITING EMPLOYEE ACCESS TO OR STORAGE OF FIREARM OR AMMUNITION. A public or private employer may not prohibit an employee who holds a license to carry a concealed handgun under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, who otherwise lawfully possesses a firearm, or who lawfully possesses ammunition from transporting or storing a firearm or ammunition the employee is authorized by law to possess in a locked, privately owned motor vehicle in a parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area the employer provides for employees.

So the sign cannot apply to employees, but it applies to everyone else.
I believe Keith's interpretation is more accurate - the sign DOES apply to employees, just not in their cars in the parking lot.
I don't see the difference in accuracy, just the same thing said a different way.
