Re: New XDM 9mm compact Mag issue......

Excaliber is right, it will take a pretty good smack to the bottom of the mag to seat the mag when it is full unless you decide to push it in hard, which isn't really recommended. When you train a malfunction drill, you slap the mag you don't push on it to make sure it is seated. Getting off topic, ...

Re: Quail Creek Shooting Range Problems?

Guaranteed, if someone decided to yell at MY kid for something like that, they'd find out what REAL wrath is. That is uncalled for to berate a minor that way. If the kid had done something that warranted addressing an immediate safety threat, then fine, but just because the kid is cutting into their...

Re: 380 and Snubbie Users Poll

I picked the second option because it's not my primary carry. I will probably still shoot a few hundred rounds through mine in a six month period even though it is not a primary. I just got my p3AT and it is great for when my primaries either A. aren't a viable option or B. as a BUG. I think that wi...

Wife's application sent!

It's been a looong time since I've had to do a new application (1996) and boy has the process changed. It's even completely different that my last renewal. So, I finally convinced the wife to take the class and I sent the paperwork off a couple of days ago. Now the wait. I am happy that a fellow co-...

Re: Carrying in other states

OK, AR, MO, LA. I plan on carrying all the way through to FL next year as well. Back before I found the USA Carry reciprocity map, I researched each state individually to find out what was expected. I still brush up on the basic laws for the states I plan to carry in, especially the touchy subjects ...

It worked after a couple of days waiting. We did the fingerprinting today and it went really smooth. It's a very interesting system.

Re: Introduce yourself

I've been meaning to register for the longest time. I'm late 30s, married with kids. I've been licensed since '96 when the law passed. I'm a pretty staunch advocate of carry when at all possible. This site looks very educational and I linked it on my blog. I hope to have a lot of informative discuss...

Re: L-1 registration issues (electronic fingerprint scheduli

Ok, thanks a bunch. That would have been awesome information to have other than a vague reference in a Q&A section when I went there knowing the answer after reading your reply. The DPS website just says that an "online application must be submitted" then a reference in the Q&A abo...

L-1 registration issues (electronic fingerprint scheduling)

I'm new to the forum, but I've had my CHL for probably 15 years (just realized I got licensed the first legal year in TX, 1996). I finally got my wife to take the class and now I'm remembering all of the fun things that a new licensee has to deal with in addition to some of the new hoops. I was tryi...
