Did Obama or his staff actually say that or was it sarcasm by the poster?baldeagle wrote:Oh that's rich. Their answer was, "Let's say he can't attend the funeral, because he' has to begin his homework on Scalia's replacement.TexasGal wrote:The official reason was released today. Obama had to stay home to begin his homework on Justice Scalia's replacement. As if any person he chose could touch Scalia's boot laces. Seriously, knowing Obama will try to replace him with someone who will destroy his life's work, it seems even more insulting than not attending the funeral.
I didn't think it was possible for me to get more disgusted by this guy, but I just did. He hate America and everything it stands for, and he's bent on finishing his destruction before he leaves office.
And now the American people are narrowing down the POTUS choices to a criminal, a communist and a complete buffoon. I suppose it's a fitting end to the great Republic.

Up until that point I was also thinking it felt fishy/suspect...

Guys, I just can't consider anything from Infowars as credible.
They've just been wrong with too many of their conspiracy theories. While I do belief there are some fishy things surrounding this, I do not think Infowars is a credible source to use.

Just for the record, it wasn't until just now after my conversation with wildbill that I googled "Scalia death conspiracy" and found many hits. I have not looked at any off the links or read any conspiracy theories. My comments are only mine and based upon what little I've seen regarding the news of his death and the article I posted from the liberal propaganda machine WaPo.

Re: Senior U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia found dead
That's not what has happened in this case. He died, was found and several hours later they found a JP that didn't see the body and did not indicated any knowledge of Scalia's past medical history or a heart condition that pronounced him dead and declared the cause of death as heart attack.
I'm not saying there is a great nefarious conspiracy involved here but, to me, this seems much more suspicious than the guy getting shot in Oregon after he illegally occupied a government building for weeks and then refused to stop.
Something isn't right is all I'm saying.

Justice Scalia was a 79 year old man who died and there is no obvious evidence of foul play.
It is sad that he died, but nothing sounds fishy to me.
Ok. It does to me.
Autopsies aren't just for deaths involving foul play.

Here's another interesting blog post from the site jmra posted. It discusses previous election year supreme court vacancies.

McConnell also said the Senate will not take up or move on the nomination. I am not confident in much of what he says.
This wouldn't be his first time to use the recess appointment. Here is an interesting article with a bit of irony includes. Notice Scalia wrote a separate opinion.

Justice Antonin Scalia concurred in the judgment, but wrote a separate opinion describing recess appointments as an anachronism in an age of high-tech communication devices. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas signed on to Scalia's opinion.
Scalia’s opinion sought to further constrain executive power, saying recess appointments are only constitutional when vacancies arise during a true recess, and expressed concern about the standards set by the majority.

The comments being posted at the bottom of this article are sickening. Our country has sunk to a low I hope never to see.

I have to admit, this is one time a conspiracy came to my mind very quickly.
