Unlike the Lege, which gave rise to the infamous SO Bees years ago, absenting themselves to prevent a quorum and a vote they would certainly lose, the Constitution and Senate rules require a quorum, which is 51. The Texas Senate quotum is 2/3rds of those elected.

I kind of hope that one can rest in peace after passing regardless of what is said about you by the still living.

It is terrible news. Pray for the Constitution.
This unhappy turn of events will bring the pressures already approaching the boiling point for the upcoming election to a fever pitch.
We had better hope nothing upsets the vote count in the US Senate. 33 seats are up to election in November.
