Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises

dcfis wrote:Just because they showed this one receipt with the obvious and stated reason to prove in a hurry expedited shipping DOES NOT mean this was the only thing he was wearing. If that were the case then this receipt proves he wasnt wearing that throat protection or that Helmet or a gas mask. Which we know he was.
They also mention he received some 90 deliveries. Until they track all that down, it is unclear.

All this does is give reason to doubt that the full armor observed by some witnesses is accurate, and point the finger at C-BS for jumping to wrong conclusions while ignoring the more obvious clue.

The thought would cross my mind, but I'd probably conclude that people actually getting shot disproves the theory.

You can't put your audience in a position where a reasonable person sitting in the crowd might think their life was being threatened because, while some or even most of those people will sit there and passively observe the show, you'll eventually come across someone who, not knowing that it's fake, reacts accordingly.
I dunno. Remember the Wild West show staged shoot-outs many of us have seen, live. Very real looking, at least to an inexperienced observer.

And, with guns forbidden, who is going to do anything drastic?

Screen shot 2012-07-22 at 6.32.23 PM.jpg
Screen caps in Windows press CTRL-PrintScreen and then paste into an image editor (like Paint). Mac, CMD-SHIFT-3.
Thanks.

Would that C-BS had been so observant, or bothered to know what they were talking about. The importance of this to them was the speed of delivery of the order, and they walked right passed the accuracy of reporting what was ordered.

jrandyw wrote:JALLEN, that seems like a very big deal. The link isn't working for some reason, but it might be my computer, I've had problems with CBS's videos before. I'd love a screen cap/image of that receipt.
How does one screen capture an image as you suggest?

Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises

Let's not misunderestimate this.

One factor is that for all anyone knew, this was part of the show, given the violence and action of modern movies. Wouldn't you like to empty your pistol into this "perp" only to find out this was all phony, Screen Actors Guild stuff, part of the premier?

Ever been to a Wild West Shoot out, where you knew it was part of the show? It would take awhile to figure out that this was not.

Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is what is working for me.

Look at about 19:40 into this program which is "48 Hours" on C-BS for the receipt from Tacticalgear.com for an assault vest Image for $106, a Blackhawk Omega triple pistol mag pouchImage, Blackhawk Omega M16 mag pouch Image and a knife Image.

Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises

Contrary to published reports, the shooter was not armored up.

He wasn't wearing a "bullet proof" vest. He was wearing a Black Hawk Tactical Vest. Per 19:41 on this "48 Hours" show (they show the receipt for his gear): http://www.cbsnews.com/video/w...ewsLeadStoriesArea.0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It has been learned that he was wearing http://tacticalgear.com/blackhawk-urban-assault-vest" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

An armed patron could have stopped this very quickly.

Re: AMC Theaters policy change

RPB wrote:AMC THEATERS BANS .............. masks and costumes now too ... and fake weapons.

AMC Theaters announced on its Facebook page that people wearing costumes or masks will no longer be admitted
As a result of this tragedy, AMC Theatres will no longer allow guest enter the theatre wearing costumes or masks.
Nor will the theatre allow guests to bring fake weapons inside the buildings.
http://www.myfoxaustin.com/story/190762 ... s-costumes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Please leave fake weapons at home ... gas masks too; and no red hair or make up
Maybe we can get the TSA to provide security screening at the movies now.
